Alaska

Alaska is the largest state in the United States, and it showcases spectacular scenery, from expansive glaciers to lakes and high mountain tops. Spanning 663,000-sq. miles, it’s an adventurers’ and nature lovers’ paradise. There are about 12,000 glaciers in Alaska and the largest one is the Bering Glacier, which is more than 120 miles long. It too contains over 3,000 lakes, meaning that fishing, kayaking, hiking, and so many other activities await you. The state is home to Denali – formerly known as Mt. McKinley – the tallest mountain on the continent at 20,310 feet, luring climbers and adventurers from around the globe.

Alaska’s wildlife is as varied as its terrains, with more than 500 species of animals such as brown bears, humpback whales, and bald eagles. Over 2 million people visit annually to take in its harsh beauty, and many of those go to see the Northern Lights-Alaska odds as one of the best locations in the world to witness that particular light show. Whether it’s kayaking amongst fjords, hiking in the US’ largest national forest, the Tongass, or visiting historic gold rush towns, there is something to delight every traveler in Alaska.
